Shayna Shares With Seacrest & Team How to Make Nut Milk at Home

Nervous about running out of milk during COVID-19 quarantine and #SaferAtHome restrictions? Fret not! Shayna Terese Taylor shared with Ryan Seacrest and the team on-air on Tuesday, April 7, you can easily make your own almond, or any kind of nut, milk at home.

To do so, soak almonds or your nut of choice in a bowl of water overnight. As Shayna shared on-air, soaking is key.

Then place a cup of the nuts in a blender along with a little bit of water for liquid and blend. If you don’t have a nut bag or cheese cloth, you can also use a thin clean dish towel.

As Shayna shares on her Instagram, @Shaynas.Kitchen, simply lay the towel over a mixing bowl, pour the almond milk over the towel, carefully gather the corners, and lift up. Then squeeze until all of the liquid is extracted. Discard pulp, or save for adding to baked goods.

And voilà! Listen back to the audio above for more and click here to read Shayna's blog for detailed instructions and photos.
